Candidates' Weakness and Suggested Remedies
Candidates
-           non adherence to rubrics;
           -           inability  to write balanced chemical equations;
           -           incorrect  use of units of measurement;
           -           poor  knowledge of IUPAC system of naming;
           -           poor  knowledge of mole concept;
           -           stated  inference instead of observation.
THE FOLLOWING REMEDIES WERE SUGGESTED FOR OVERCOMING THE WEAKNESSES
Candidates should:
-           Candidates  should read and understand the rubrics of the questions before responding to them.
           -           Candidates  should learn how to explain concepts using appropriate technical terms.
           -           Candidates  should learn how to write legibly.
           -           The principles behind the  determination of oxidation number should be taught and understood.
           -           Teachers  should cover the examination syllabus before the paper is taken.
