The weaknesses that were observed generally in the scripts of the candidates include:

                          - Copying out the questions on the answer booklet before writing out the answers.
- Disorderly presentation of answers e.g. part of question 2 appearing after question 4.
- Drawing of poor diagrams with loss of details.
- Production of diagrams with wolly and broken lines, free hand guidelines and non-horizontal labels.
- Not giving titles or magnifications for diagrams and not conforming to size specifications.
- Poor spelling of labels, technical terms and one word answers
- Using of abbreviations and SMS English to answer questions e.g. Btw instead of between.
- Poor grasp of English Language.
The following remedies were proffered to overcome these weaknesses:

                          - Teachers should: teach the candidates how  to draw biological diagrams.
- Engage the candidates in spelling drills and teach the candidates examination writing tips.
The students should: be committed to their studies and endeavour to attempt past question papers before the onset of the examinations.
