Candidate's Weakness with Suggested Remedies
Candidates’  weaknesses were as follows:
      
      -           inability  to differentiate decimal places and significant figures;
      -           reading-off  burette to one place of decimal;
      -           poor  knowledge of chemical equations;
      -           inability  to write correct inferences from observation;
      -           inability  to find average titre value using concordant values;
      -           inability  to follow instructions;
      -           some  candidates wrote clear solution instead of colourless solution;
      -           wrong  unit. Some candidates wrote g/dm-3 instead of g/dm3 or  gdm-3;
      -           wrong  positioning of ions. Some candidates wrote Al3+ instead of Al3+.
THE FOLLOWING REMEDIES WERE SUGGESTED FOR OVERCOMING THE WEAKNESSES
The following remedies were suggested:
-           candidates  should learn the difference between decimal places and significant figures;
          -           more  practical activities should be carried out before WASSCE begins;
          -           candidates  should learn how to write inferences from observations;
          -           candidates  should be familiar with coloured solutions.
