A large percentage of candidates attempted this question. Performance was high due to the fact that the question was a direct application question and candidates used their knowledge of everyday traffic experiences to answer this question. Other point that could have aided a better performance for the candidates are:

4. To inculcate positive attitudes in citizens towards road use.
5. To reduce the number of accidents on the road.
6. To ensure smooth flow of traffic on the road.
7. To ensure proper identification of vehicles and other road users.

B. ROLES OF CITIZENS IN OBSERVING TRAFFIC REGULATIONS

1. They help control vehicles through volunteering.
2. They obey traffic rules and regulations e.g speed limit, overtaking, zebra crossing, no phone use while driving, drunk driving etc.
3. They organize enlightenement programmes in road.
4. They use road safety club/associations on road.
5. They help in minor repairs of road
