(a)        Control Measures for HIV/AIDS

1. Providing access to treatment of opportunistic infections
2. Providing programmes that reduce both the short and long-term physical, psychological and social harm HIV/AIDS causes in adults and children
3. Active testing policy for HIV/promotion of Voluntary Counselling& Testing (VCT)
4. Promulgation of laws that protect the human rights of people infected with HIV
5. Establishment/operation of integrated health services to provide assistance/treatment for HIV infected people
6. Promulgation of laws against stigmatization of People Living With HIV/AIDS
7. Reduction of poverty

(b)        Preventive Measures for HIV/AIDS

1. Married couples should restrict themselves to their partners.
2. Encouragement of the use of condoms to prevent them from being infected with AIDS
3. Patients should be properly screened before hospital admission.
4. Constant testing of pregnant women against infection
5. AIDS victims and non-victims should be properly counselled not to spread the deadly disease
6. Surgical instruments must be well sterilized immediately after use
7. Hospital staff, such as nurse, doctors and ward maids should always wear gloves while in contact with patient body fluid.
8. Syringe and needles should be well sterilized before usage
