3. Periodic free, fair and credible elections
4. International recognition
5. Popular participation
6. Adherence to the provisions of the constitution of the state
7. Customs and traditions of the people
8. Charisma of the leadership

B.    FACTORS THAT FACILITATE CITIZENS’ OBEDIENCE TO
CONSTITUTED AUTHORITY IN NIGERIA

1.         Good/right leadership
2. Good governance/effective service delivery
3. Adherence to the rule of law/due process/constitution
4. Respect and protection of citizen’s rights in society
5. Administration of fair play/equity/justice in society
6. Public enlightenment on importance of obedience to law and order
7. Inculcation of moral and religious values in citizens/individuals/moral uprightness
8. Legitimacy of the constituted authority
9. Equitable distribution of dividends of democracy
10. Fear of sanctions/punishment
