         U, V.
(b)   Outline the five procedures for carrying out the service shown in the diagram labeled R.
(c)   Give two importance why the service in diagram U is being rendered.
 (d)  List five lip care tools /materials.

   (e)   Name three methods of the services being rendered in the diagram labeled B

OBSERVATION

   This question was very popular among the candidates. Majority of the candidates’ performed excellently well and were able to identify the services rendered in make-up studios which included:
M: Filling the brow with pencil/ Highlighting the eyebrow;
N: Applying eye shadow;
O: Cleaning the under eye/ eyelashes;
P: Applying the eye liner/eye pencil/Lining the eye;
Q: Curling the eyelashes;
 R: Fixing false lashes/ artificial eyelashes;
S:  Tweezing/Shaping /Plucking eyebrows;
 T: Applying lipstick/colour/rouge;
U: Scrubbing / Brushing the lips;
V: Applying lip liner.
In 2(b), majority of the candidates answered correctly but some candidates listed the tools used instead of  the procedures of fixing false/ artificial eye lashes as glue, lashes curler and mascara. The excepted answers were
 -          Trim the false lashes/artificial eyelashes to fit the eye if necessary;
-           Apply glue to the lashes;
-           Fix lashes close to the base of your client’s lashes;
-           Press and hold to seal the lashes in place;
-           Apply liquid eye liner / mascara.
                                                                                                           
In question 2(c, d & e), majority of the candidates answered these questions correctly which they answered as follows:

  • To remove dead skin cells;
  • Smoothen the lips;
  • Produce even lip.

  • Lip balm;
  • Lip liner/pencil;
  • Flannel;
  • Lip brush;
  • Lip gloss;
  • Lip stick/colour/rouge;
  • Cotton bud;
  • Tissue;
  • Scrub;
  • Wipes;
  • Eye pencil.

  • Shaping;
  • Threading;
  • Waxing;
  • Shaving;
  • Tweezing/Plucking.
