Candidate's Weakness

The Chief Examiners reported the following as some of the weaknesses of the candidates:

1. Commission of grammatical mistakes
2. use of wrong tenses;
3. spelling errors;
4. bad punctuation;
5. wrong usage of capital and small letter;.

Suggested Remedies

To remedy the observed weaknesses, the Chief Examiners suggested that:

1. Teachers of French should place a lot of emphasis on the teaching of grammar.
2. Students should be encouraged to read French stories, magazines and journals so as to improve their vocabulary.
