Observation

Candidates were able to explain ageing and state some signs of ageing. Some candidates could state only a few characteristics of enzymes.

The expected answers are:

    1. Definition of ageing
      • Is the process of growing old.
      • Which begins from conception and terminates at death /at the end of one’s life.
    2. Signs of ageing

  1.
  2. Characteristics of enzymes
      Enzymes:
    • are specific in action
    • remain unchanged at the end of the action/ act as catalysts in chemical reactions
    • are required in small quantity to act
    • actions are reversible
    • are pH specific
    • they are proteins in nature
    • are temperature specific
