Candidates were requested to write out ways that could be used to avert food scarcity in our country now. As this question seeks to arouse the candidates’ interest in agriculture, those that attempted it did well by mentioning what the government should do to help the farmers have good yields but some of the candidates failed to point out the need for villages to organize farm shows, award prizes to the farmers and the use of irrigation during dry seasons

In this question, candidates were expected to write on the discussion Ego and Adanna had concerning their friend’s traditional marriage they attended. Some of the candidates that attempted this question followed the right dialogue pattern and gave good points.  Some of them did not start with greeting or pleasantries, while others presented the discussion in prose forms.

Candidates were required to explain the proverb that says ‘You do not stand at a place to watch a masquerade’ with a story to illustrate the meaning.

Most of the candidates could only tell the illustrating story which was not up to the required length without giving the meaning.

The question is as a school prefect, write to your school principal, telling him some of the things he should do for the students to be happy. This question was well attempted by the candidates though some of them failed to use the correct format for writing formal letters

Candidates were asked to write a descriptive essay on their village market. This question was well attempted by the candidates. Some were able to give almost all the expected points but could not explain fully the people that come to the market. They hedged this point by saying that many people come to buy and sell there, and no examples of such people were given.
