Question 1

Examine the effects of migration of early Muslims to Abyssinia.

_____________________________________________________________________________________________________
Observation

This historical question was adjudged by Chief Examiners to be unpopular among candidates as most of those who attempted the question wrote on the events that led to the migration instead of its effects. Some major points expected from the candidates include the fact that the early Muslims enjoyed the needed freedom to go about their devotional activities; new converts were recorded; the migration marked the beginning of friendly relations between Islam and Christianity and the opportunity to demonstrate the peace preached by Islam by the emigrants was given. Candidates’ performance was not satisfactory.
