Observation

This was a popular question among candidates. Candidates were able to describe Fofo’s background, how she became a street child and her encounter with Kabria. However, they did not seem to mention her ‘mature ways’ to cope on the streets.

The following points were expected from the candidates:

• • Identification of Fofo and establishing her as a central character in the novel.
• • Fofo’s background.
• • Her vulnerability as a street child.
• • Her mature ways to cope on the street.
• • Her attitude to her mother.
• • The effect of street life on her.

Candidates’ performance was fair.
