A SUMMARY OF CANDIDATES’ WEAKNESSES

Some candidates could not satisfactorily interpret the sketch given them in the test paper. Most candidates could not perform the machining exercise contained in the test paper.

SUGGESTED REMEDIES FOR OVERCOMING WEAKNESSES

Schools should be encouraged to employ competent technical teachers and provided all the needed machines.
Teachers were urged to adequately groom their students on how to interpret working drawings. Students should be taught how to perform some basic machining operations.
