This was a question in which responses were expected from all candidates.  However, not all the candidates attempted it.  Their performance in the question was generally poor.  Some of the candidates confused geological methods with geophysical methods.  The geological methods in mineral exploration include:

• visual examination
• aerial photography
• geological mapping
• use of microscope or microscopy
• well logging
• mineral analysis
