candidates weakness/remedies

  •      Insufficient knowledge of the subject matter. Most candidates exhibited

poor understanding of the subjects as a result they could not satisfactorily   attempt questions on definition of meeting various technologies associated with meeting, parts of reports which were in questions 6 and 7 respectively.

  •      Poor usage of English language: Most of the candidates could not explain

their points in simple and correct English Grammar, thus they lost
     valuable marks.

  •      Inadequate mastery of examination technique most candidates did not

understand the difference between listing and explanation thus, where
they  were asked to explain, they listed instead of explaining like in
     questions 6(c) and 7(c).

4.       SUGGESTED REMEDIES

-        The candidates should be encouraged to study standard and comprehensive text books in their preparation for the examination rather than relying on ‘key-points’.
-        Candidates should endeavour to learn the rules of English Grammar so as to enable them express their points clearly.
-        The teachers should thoroughly teach the candidates the difference between the explains, state and list so as to enable the candidates score reasonable marks in their examination.
-        well qualified teachers that studies Business Education (Secretarial Option) or secretarial studies should be employed to teach the  candidates.
