General Comments


The standard of the paper was comparable to those of previous years. The coverage of the syllabus was wide and extended. The rubrics in the question paper were clear and unambiguous. All domains of learning featured significantly in the paper. The questions were well framed in simple language without ambiguity. Candidates’ performance was not encouraging as compared to previous years. The marking scheme was detailed and specific.

The time allotted was adequate. Candidates’ raw mean score of 24 and standard deviation of 03.36 with a candidature of 6,041 indicated a better performance than that of WASSCE for Private Candidate 2018, when the raw mean score of 23 and a standard deviation of 06.27 with a candidature of 5,520 was recorded.
