Question 1

  1. (a)        State four safety precautions in printing workshop

    (b)      Define lubrication in printing machine.
(c)       Explain Central Lubricating System of a printing machine.

Observation

          (b)   Lubrication
Lubrication is a preventive maintenance process of oiling moving parts of printing machines in order to ensure free parts movement, avoid rusting of the mating parts and reduce the rate of tear and wear by reducing the friction of the mating parts.

(c)  Central Lubricating System of a Printing Machine
This is a process of lubricating inner moving parts of printing machines where hands cannot reach. Every three to four hours of continuous machine run, a lever is pulled to ensure a continuous drop of lubricant on machine parts. This is achieved in the automatic central lubricating system.
