- state true lengths of the sides;
- state the true angle of inclination to the horizontal plane.

Candidates were expected to:
- draw three centre lines;
- draw two circles with diameter 30 and 20 with centres 70 apart;
- bisect the distance between the circumference of the two circles;
- make equal divisions on both sides of the midpoint;
- number to the left of the midpoint 1, 2,3 and to the right 11, 21, 31 etc;
- draw intersecting arcs from centres M and N;
- join the intersection points into a smooth curve.
