The candidates’ weaknesses were as follows:
                                               -        Poor mastery of the keyboard;
                                                 -        overtyping;
                                                 -        Poor correction of errors;
                                                 -        Inconsistent line spacing;
                                                 -        Wrong alignment of figures and margin;
                                                 -        Inconsistent line display.
                                SUGGESTED REMEDIES
                            The following remedies  were suggested towards improving performance of candidates in subsequent  examinations:
                                        
                                                 -        Adequate and serviceable typewriters should  be provided in schools;
                                                 -        More time should be allotted to  Typewriting drilling.
                                                 -        Method of correction of errors should be effectively taught  in 
                              Schools;
                                                 -        The importance of rubric instructions  should be emphasized;
                              
                    -        Qualified  teachers should be employed  in the  teaching of the                                      subject in order to emphasize  the theoretical aspect of the syllabus;
                            -        Candidates should be  taught the rules and regulations guiding speed and accuracy task.
