To mark the new year, the Local Authority plans a party. Design a poster using the slogan: REFRESHINGLY PURE as the slogan.

Colours: Not more than three.
Size:    40cm by 30cm.


Observation

 

 

The question was attempted by a few candidates. Those who attempted the question could not show well coordinated illustrations and well constructed letters. The general performance was poor. They were expected to respond to the question thus:
A.        LAYOUT      

1.         PLANNING  

(i)        Appropriate use of the poster design, depicting the symbol of the local authority.           
(ii)       Should reflect the mood of a new year party.                                                                      
(iii)      Choice of suitable typeface.                                                                                      

2.         COMPOSITION      

(i)        Judicious use of space to specification.                                                                      
(ii)       Effective arrangement of all elements in the poster design.                                                

B.        TECHNICAL PROFICIENCY                  

(i)        Ability to create and render expressive poster.                                  

(ii)       Skillful construction of legible letters.                                                                      

(iii)      Ability to incorporate effectively the slogan: “LET’S CONTINUE TO WORK TOGETHER”.  

(iv)      Skillful use of materials and instruments.                                                                 

 

C.        COLOUR                  

(i)        Choice of harmonious and contrasting colours.                                                       

(ii)       Effective application and distribution of colours to specification.                        

D.        SUITABILITY         

(i)        Ability to produce a New Year poster design.                                                                     
(ii)       The poster must be relevant.                                                                                    

E.        ORIGINALITY                               

(i)        Personalized style in the poster.                                                                               
(ii)       Uniqueness of the design.
