Observation

The question was attempted by few candidates. The performance was average.

The following points were expected from the candidates’ to obtain the maximum marks:

1. DRAWING QUALITY
   
   
   

   1. Accurate drawing of a female model wearing a suit with the buttons open over a gown.
   
   
   2. Accurate drawing of the female model sitting on an arm chair.

   
   
   3. Accurate drawing of the magazine on her laps.

   
   
   4. Accurate drawing of the legs crossed.

   
   
2. TONE/COLOUR
   
   

   1. Effective shading to depict the female model wearing a suit with the
      buttons open over a gown and sitting comfortably on the arm chair.

   
   
   2. Accurate indication of the source of light in the composition.
   
   
   3. Ability to create the correct feeling in the composition.

   
   
3. COMPOSITION
   
   

   1. Centrality of the composition on the paper.
   
   
   2. Use of paper to advantage (at least ¾ of the paper).
   
   
   3. Accurate proportion of the model in the composition.
   
   
   4. Indication of baseline.
   
   
4. ORIGINALITY
   
   

   1. Showing effective drawing skill and personalized style in the drawing.
   
   
   2. Showing effective use of art materials (colour, pencil, pen and ink).
