(a)        Define entrepreneurship.
(b)        State two character traits of an entrepreneur.
(c)        Expain the following as used in soft soldering:i) flux;(ii) sweating.

Observation

 

Most of the candidates could not explain sweating. The required responses to this question is as follows.
5a. Entrepreneurship is the ability and willingness to develop, organise and manage a business with any of its risks in order to make a profit.

b. Entrepreneur’s character traits are

c. (i) Flux is a chemical substance used to clean a metal surface before soldering.
OR
It is a substance that allows solder to flow and adhere to metal surfaces.
OR
It is a substance that protects the soldered joint from corrosion or oxidation.
OR
It is a chemical substance used in soft soldering to dissolve surface oxide of metal.
(ii) Sweating is a method of soft soldering used for joining large/small parts. The parts are brought together under light pressure. Heat is then applied until solder runs and solidifies.
