(a)     Name two adhesives which are produced ready for use.

(b)     Make a pictorial sketch of a single ball catch.

(c)      State one function of each of the following parts of a living tree:

(i)roots:

(ii)crown.

Observation

 

Candidates’ performance in this question was fair, some of the candidates could not name two adhesives which are produced ready for use and some of them could not sketch correctly a single ball catch.

Candidates were expected to:

(a)Name two adhesives which are produced ready for use.

-  Contact glue
-  Expoxies
-  Super glue

(b) Make a pictorial sketch of a single ball catch

  • State one function each of roots and crown of a living tree.

The solution is stated below:

Function of Roots:
-  to hold the tree firmly in the ground;
-  collect mineral salts and water (raw sap) from the ground.

Function of Crown

  • Prepare food for the tree;
  • Gives the tree the beauty;
  • Produces some timber;
  • Gives shade to the tree.
