(a)        A SUMMARY OF CANDIDATES’ WEAKNESSES

          The candidates were generally weak in:
                   -           knowledge of the functions of the given parts of a metal jack plane,
                   -           ability to distinguish between outside and inside callipers;
                   -           surface preparation of timber,
                   -           understanding the requirements of questions.

(b)        SUGGESTED REMEDY FOR  OVERCOMING  THESE  WEAKNESSES

          To overcome these weaknesses, more practical assignments should be given to students.
