Observation

(a)       What is assimilation? A handful of the candidates did fairly well.

(b)       Candidates were expected to mention the main difference between elision and assimilation as a phonological process. Most of the candidates did not show proper understanding of the terms in their responses.

(d)       Candidates are to analyze the given data by identifying the sound that changes and the sound that does not changed. This aspect was poorly grasped by most of the candidates.
