Observation

The question attracted a handful of candidates. Performance was good. The candidates were expected to answer in the following way:
           
A.        DRAWING              

(i)         Effective representation of the theme: Freedom.                                                    
(ii)        Appropriate use of proportions and perspective in the composition.                     
        
B.        COMPOSITION      

(i)         Skillful arrangement of all elements in the collage composition.                          
(ii)        Representation of appropriate setting in a freedom mood.                                     

(iii)       Judicious use of space to size specification: (40cm by 30cm).                                 

                                                                                                                     
C.        COLOUR                 

(i)         Effective mixture, application and distribution of colours.                                    
(ii)        Should show tones, texture and direction of lights on all objects and figures.      

(iii)       Choice of colours that contrast and harmonize.                                                       

       
D.        INTERPRETATION          

(i)         Correct and pleasing representation in the collage painting.                                            

E.        ORIGINALITY                   

(i)        Personalized style in the composition and overall visual effect.
