Most candidates were able to sketch a screw and also state defects in timber. However, the candidates who attempted the question could not give the appropriate response to the question.
The expected response is as given below:
- Solid wood continually works and this causes instability in the dimensions of a
workpiece. This continuous movement will cause stress if plastic laminate which is more stable is placed on it. The plastic laminate may crack or even break.
