Candidate's Weakness and Remedies

A SUMMARY OF CANDIDATES’ WEAKNESSES
The following weaknesses were observed from the candidates’ response:
            -           failure to use appropriate terms related to building;
            -           failure to differentiate between ball valve and overflow pipe;
            -           failure to support their answers with appropriate sketches and identify the parts labeled.

•       failure to sketch conventional symbols used in building.

To overcome these weaknesses, candidates should be well exposed to:
-           some proper building terms which require students to develop habit reading building text books, dictionaries regularly own their own;
-           setting out tools by showing them practically to see while teaching;
-           sketches and labeling by giving them as an assignments on daily bases.  In addition the student should be given opportunity to go for industrial training for one month during their long vacation.
