Candidates were expected to write a story to illustrate the saying: Half a loaf is better than none. It was also a popular question among the candidates. Many of the candidates who attempted the question did not understand the saying and so wrote irrelevant stories. Most of the stories did not have a climax and a conclusion that illustrates the saying. Many also did not stick consistently to the use of the past tense. Some gave stories with animal characters, which is unacceptable.
