Weakness and Remedies

The following weaknesses were noticed in the candidates’ responses.
Candidates

• used some technical terms wrongly;
• wrote spellings of technical words wrongly;
• did not understand the demands of the questions;
• could not list the methods involved in capture fisheries;
• could not distinguish between fish food and fish feed.

The following remedies were however suggested:

• Candidates should be exposed to capture fisheries.
• Field trips should be organized for candidates to enhance their experiences.
• Qualified teachers should be recruited to teach the subject.
• Good textbooks should be recommended to the candidates since the subject is relatively new.
• Candidates should be familiar with technical terms in fisheries and be able to write their spellings correctly.
• Schools should provide instructional materials to teach the subject to facilitate effective teaching and pleasant learning.
