OBSERVATION

Candidates made a fair attempt at answering this question, it was not their very strong point but they managed to answer the questions.

For question 5 (a), where they were to distinguish between food preparation and cooking, majority of the candidates that attempted the question stated time and order of work as food preparation instead of stating points like putting ingredients together, readiness for cooking/serving.

In 5 (b) candidates stated correct reasons for cooking food as to make it palatable, to render it digestible etc. In the same vein, many candidates were able to state the factors to be considered when choosing a method of cooking e.g. health, nutritional need and age
