WEAKNESS/REMEDIES
|
The weaknesses that were observed in the candidates' scripts were:
(l) Incomplete coverage of the syllabus
Many of the cand idates did not cover the syllabus. The presentations of such candidates were scanty.
It is advisable that they cover the syllabus before the date of commencement of the examinations.
(2) Poor map work
Map illustrations were poorly drawn by many candidates. Candidates should allocate special time to the practice of drawing maps and locating geographical features un.il they fully grasp the skills that are involved in it, since it is usually required for answering questions in Geography examinations.
(3) Mere listing of points
Many candidates merely listed the points rather than explaining them. Mere listing of points cannot earn the candidates full marks, so candidates should go the extra mile to explain their points if the question so require.
(4) Violation of rubrics
Some candidates answered questions in sections A and B only. Such candidates did not answer any question in section C and lost the marks for section C. It is advisable to read the rubrics on the question paper to adequately understand them before attempting the questions. |
