This question was not popular among the candidates. Many of the candidates treated the map aspect of the question poorly. The (b) aspect of the question that required the physical conditions for the production of groundnut in Nigeria was also poorly handled by many of the candidates that answered the question.

The expected answers included:

- wide plains for easy cultivation
- moderate rainfall of up to 100cm annually
- long dry season for harvesting, drying and storage
- loose sandy and loamy soil for planting and harvesting
- average temperature of between 25° C to 30° C.

The ways in which groundnut production has contributed to the economy of Nigeria was well treated by many of the candidates who answered the question.
