Observation

This was a popular and a straight forward question. All the candidates who attempted it
misinterpreted the question as how discipline should be maintained in schools.  Performance was average. Candidates were expected to provide the following answers to the question.

1. To understand and interpret current issues and events in a rapidly changing world
2. To develop the ability to solve problems and make good decisions on current events and economic and social issues that affect the people directly
3. Understanding of the principles guiding public offices/officers
4. It helps to understand the processes by which the affairs of a country are managed
5. It creates and enhances political awareness among citizens
6. It promotes knowledge and mental development
7. It creates a career path and employment opportunities
8. Trains, prepares and equips people for political offices
9. To understand the socio-political and economic structures and factors in the state
10. Develops citizens knowledge of their rights, duties and obligations
11. Educates citizens on what to do when their rights are violated
12. Enables citizens to understand their country’s relationship with other countries and international organizations
13. For personal development and interest
14. Inculcates a sense of belonging and patriotism in the citizens
15. Enables students to know and rationally compare systems of government
16. It enables the students to know the constitution and how it operates
17. It Creates awareness on the successes and failures of past governments
18. It teaches students to be balanced and objective in the analysis of political events/issues
