This was a popular question and was attempted by most of the candidates. The performance of the candidates who attempted it was average as they could not understand the demands of the question. The candidates were expected to provide the following answers to the question.
- Virtual control of the economy by the state
- Total control of the means of production, distribution and exchange
- Labour is not adequately rewarded
- Individuals are not allowed to participate in the economy
- Press censorship
- One-party system/state
- Centralized political administration
- The nature and structure of enterprise limits its freedom
- Labour superiority/dictatorship of the working class
- Constant class struggles between the bourgeoisie and the proletariat
- Freedom of choice is limited
