Candidates' Weakness

The candidate’s weaknesses were displayed in questions 1a & c, 2b, 4a, 5c, and 6 which were on how an individual can be helped to become an informed consumer, function of consumer agents, work simplification measures to facilitate sewing, child care, food preparation and entertainments, relationship between goals and valves, guidelines for using cleaning agents in the home and ways of saving money. Majority of the candidates’ mix up on the function of consumer agents and performed woefully.

1. The instruction was to begin each question on a new page but this instruction was not observed
2. Candidates preparing for Home Management examination should study with relevant textbooks and attend remedial classes.
3. Teachers managing or organising private candidates should ensure that candidates know how to follow instructions on the rubrics.
