Candidates were attracted to this question, but in spite of its lucidity, candidates’ responses were not remarkable, this is due to candidates inadequate knowledge of the musical instruments of Nigeria. They were expected to respond to the question in the following manner:

(c) (i) Membranophones - these are instruments which produce sounds through the vibration of animal skin. The animal skin is stretched to cover a hollowed object. Sounds are produced by hitting
the surface skin with sticks or palm of the hands.
(ii) Aerophones - These are instruments which produce sounds when air is blown into them. These include Oja, Alghaita, Kakaaki.
