This question was attempted by many candidates and their performance was poor. In part (a) many candidates did well in it. However, some gave wrong answers such as passing, running, throwing, catching e.t.c. In part (b)(i) many candidates missed the question by writing team, individual, forehand stroke, backhand stroke e.t.c. In part (b)(ii) they performed woefully in it. In part (c) many candidates gave wrong answers such as the net, legs of the table, surface e.t.c.

The expected answers are as follow:

(a) Skills Common to racket games
    - grip
    - service
    - forehand stroke/drive
    - backhand stroke/drive
    - smash
    - lob/clear
    - stance/footwork


(b) (i)Types of service in badminton
    - low short service
    - high deep service
    - flick service
    - drive service
    (ii)Instances when a let is called during badminton match
        if a player;
    - accidentally crosses the court;
    - serves out of turn;
    - serves to the net and crosses over to the opponent’s court;
    - serves from the wrong court;
    - receives from wrong court;
    - When a shuttle is caught in the net

(c) Parts of a table tennis table
    - the table/board;;
    - the stand.
