Majority of the candidates who responded to this question performed below average.
In part (a), majority of the candidates could not state four rules guiding kick-off in football games.
In part (b), majority of the candidates named four equipment used during a game of table tennis. However, they could not state two instances when a let is called during a game of table tennis.
The expected answers are as follows:
- RULES GUIDING KICK-OFF IN FOOTBALL GAMES
- Ball is placed stationary at the centre mark /spot
- Every player must remain in his / her own half of the pitch until the ball is kicked
- The opposing players must remain at a distance of 9.15 m away from the ball until kick is taken
- The referee must give a signal / blow the whistle before kick is taken
- The player that kicked the ball must not kick it a second time until it has been touched / kicked by another player
- A goal can be scored directly from a kick-off
- An own goal may not be scored directly from a kick -off
