Observation

This question was attempted by many candidates and their performance was fair. 

In part (a) candidates correctly listed equipment in hockey game. 

In part (b) only few candidates explained striker, defender and mid field player, other beat around the bush.

In part (c) (i) candidates could not state instances a free throw is awarded in handball game and
in (c) (ii) candidates correctly named officials in volleyball game.

In part (d) candidates also could not correctly explain the term travelling in relation to basketball game.

(i)   STRIKER

-           A back player whose main role is to prevent opponent player from getting
into scoring position/preventing his opponents from scoring/explained

(iii)      MID FIELD PLAYER

-           A player that operates in the middle of the field/assisting both the defenders and the attackers

(c)(i)  INSTANCES WHEN A FREE THROW IS AWARDED IN HANDBALL GAME

   Free throw is awarded when a player:
-           kicks the ball with foot
-          holds an  opponent
-           pushes an opponent
  -           holds the ball for more than three seconds
 -   travels more than three steps with the ball
 -   exhibits unsportsmanlike conduct either in words or action

(d)    EXPLANATION OF THE TERM TRAVELLING IN BASKETBALL GAME

-  walking with the ball without passing or bouncing it
-  when a player with the ball moves one or both feet illegally
-   a player moves his pivot foot without passing the ball.
