Activity 1: Backhand drive in Table Tennis Game
Procedure: Candidate is expected to demonstrate backhand drive continuously ten times against the wall/elevated table/upright. Three trials are allowed, the best trial is recorded as score.
Use the scale of 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 to rate the candidate’s performance on the grip, stance and execution as the candidate performs the activity.

All performances will be judged according to the following rubrics.
Grip
(i) held at the handle
(ii) firmly held
(iii) bat/racket facing direction of play
(iv) wrist is relaxed
(v) adopt a comfortable type of grip
Stance
(i) assume astride position/slightly striding
(ii) stand close to the table
(iii) knees slightly bent/flexed
(iv) lean forward slightly/tilt forward
(v) face the table
Execution
(i) eyes on the ball
(ii) swing bat/racket hand slightly backward across the body
(iii) stretch bat/racket hand forward to make contact with the ball
(iv) avoid touching table tennis board with any part of the body
(v) wrist is flexed at contact
Product Evaluation
The purpose is to measure the ability to execute backhand drive continuously ten times against the wall/elevated table/upright.
Scoring
Each low service attempt is scored 1 point if the shuttle lands within 0.5m of the short service line.
