Question 3
Fig. 2 shows three views of a block. Draw the isometric view of the block making P the lowest point
Observation
Candidates were given three views of an object in 1st angle orthographic projection and were to convert the drawings into an isometric drawing while making a particular point the lowest point. The essence of the lowest point is to make the drawing be presented in a particular form that would coincide with the given drawing.
Many candidates attempted this question and their performance was above average.
Strength: Candidates were able to:-
- use isometric axes;
- use correct isometric box;
- draw the faces A, B, C, D, E, F and I well.
Weakness: Some of the candidates who attempted the question could not draw faces G, H and J properly.
Candidates were expected to do the following:
ISOMETRIC VIEW
i. use isometric axes;
ii. make P the lowest point;
iii.use correct isometric box (L = 80, W = 80, H = 70);
iv. draw face A;
- draw face B;
- draw face C;
- draw face D;
viii. draw face E;
ix. draw face F;
x. draw face G;
xi. draw face H;
xii. draw face I;
xiii .draw face J.
