BUILDING DRAWING (OPTIONAL)

The diagram below is a sketch plan of a bungalow.  Study the given specifications and use them to answer the questions that follow.

 

 

 

 

SPECIFICATIONS

FOUNDATION:          800 x 250 concrete strip on 40 blinding at 600 below the ground level.

WALLS:                      all walls 150 sandcrete hollow block;
                                    arch – semi circular 1800 x 2100 x 150.

FLOOR:                      250 hardcore;
150 concrete slab;
25 terrazzo floor finish;
All floor level 150 above ground level and 3000 to ceiling except dining area 300 above ground level.
            DOORS:                     DD 1800 x 2100 x 38 wooden panel in 100 x 50 frame;
                                                D 900 x 2100 x 38 wooden panel in 100 x 50 frame;
                                                D1 2500 x 2100 roller shutter.

            WINDOWS:                Sliding glazed aluminium casement;
                                                W1 800 x 500;
                                                W 1200 x 1000.

            LINTEL:                      150 x 22 reintorced concrete

            ROOF:                        Pitch gable 15° slope;
                                                150 x 50 rafters;
                                                100 x 50 tie beams;
                                                100 x 50 struts;
                                                100 x 75 wall plates;
                                                long span aluminium roofing sheets;
                                                aluminium ridge cap.

  1. Draw to a scale of 1:100, the
  2. floor plan;
  3. front elevation.

 

  1. Draw to a scale of 1:50, a section on KK.

Show four roof members of the section.

                                    (ii)        draw the walls (out lines);
                                    (iii)       draw 16 windows;
                                    (iv)       draw 12 doors;
                                    (v)        draw the arch;
                                    (vi)       draw the cutting plane K-K;
                                    (vii)      label 11 partitions;
                                    (viii)     write floor plan;
                                    (ix)       draw neatly.

 

                        FRONT ELEVATION

                        (aii)      (i)         draw to scale (17, 300 x 4,500) ± 10;
                                    (ii)        draw ground and finished lines;
                                    (iii)       draw 5 walls;
                                    (iv)       draw 4 sliding glaze windows;
                                    (v)        draw a double panel door;
                                    (vi)       draw the roof (four horizontal and vertical lines);
                                    (vii)      draw one roller shutter door;
                                    (viii)     write front elevation;

SECTION K-K

  1. draw to scale (10,600 x 5,650) ± 10;
  2. draw 3 foundation footings and blindings;
  3. draw the earth, hardcore, concrete slab and finished floor level;
  4. draw the ground line;
  5. draw 3 walls in section (foundation and section walls);
  6. draw 2 lintels and a beam;
  7. door and a window in section;
  8. draw a window and 2 panel doors in elevations;
  9. draw 2 wall plates and ceiling members;
  10. draw the roof members (ridge cap, king post, rafters, purlins, tie beam and roofing sheets);
  11. write section K-K;
  12. draw neatly;
  13. for showing any 4 roof members of the section K-K.
