This question was attempted by many candidates. The candidate’s performance was good. The candidates were expected to answer in the following way:
           
A.        LAYOUT                              

1.         PLANNING                          

 (i)        Ability to create a design for a fabric to be worn celebrating the day of independence.        

 (ii)        Mapping out space for the simple repeat pattern.   

2.         COMPOSITION                   

(i)         Effective arrangement of the simple repeat pattern. 

(ii)        Judicious use of space to size specification: (25cm x 15cm).  

B.        TECHNICAL PROFICIENCY                 

(i)         Ability to execute an attractive simple repeat pattern design.                                

(ii)        Should use suitable motif(s) for simple repeat pattern design.                              

(iii)       Skillful use of materials and instruments. 
       
C.        COLOUR                           

(i)         Choice of harmonious and contrasting colours.     

(ii)        Suitable mixture, application and distribution of colours to specification.            

D.        SUITABILITY                

(i)         Ability to produce fabric design. 

E.        ORIGINALITY                   

(i)         Evidence of individual creativity.
