Observation

The question was attempted by few candidates. The candidates performed averagely. The candidates were expected to answer in the following way:

A.        DRAWING                          

(i)         Effective drawing of the theme: Adversity in a mixed media painting.                 

(ii)        Emphasis on the use of perspective and proportions expressed in the painting.   

B.        COMPOSITION                              

(i)         Arrangement of figures and objects to achieve rhythm and variety in the mix media
painting.     
(ii)        Judicious use of space to size specification: (40cm by 30cm).                                
(iii)       Should depict a suitable background for the theme: Adversity in mixed media.  
                                                                                                                       
C.        COLOUR                                         

(i)         Choice of harmonious and contrasting colours.                                                       

(ii)        Proper use of tonal range and texture to show direction of light.                          

(iii)       Proper mixing and application to give a mixed media painting effect.                 

D.        INTERPRETATION                      

(i)         Appropriate visual representation of the theme: Adversity in mixed media painting.                                                                                          
E.        ORIGINALITY                               

(i)         Overall visual effect of the work. 

(ii)         Personalized style in the use of the medium: Mixed media.
