Observation

The question was well attempted by the candidates. The candidates were expected to answer in the following way:
                       
A.        LAYOUT                  

1.         PLANNING               

(i)         Create designs on fabric meant for the Young Farmers Association.                                  

(ii)         Mapping out space for simple repeat pattern with appropriate motifs.                    

            
2.         COMPOSITION       

(i)         Effective arrangements of all elements in the design.                                              

(ii)        Should use space to size specification (25cm x 15cm).                                     

B.        TECHNICAL PROFICIENCY     

(i)         Should construct appropriate motifs.          

(ii)        Produce simple repeat pattern design.      

(iii)       Proper use of materials and instruments. 

                                                                                                                       
C.        COLOUR     

(i)         Choice of harmonious and contrasting colours. 

(ii)        Suitable mixture, application and distribution of colours.                                      

(iii)       Use of colours to specification.      

     
D.        SUITABILITY        

(i)         Should produce a suitable simple repeat pattern design.                                              

E.        ORIGINALITY       

(i)         Evidence of individual creativity.
