Candidates' Weakness

Candidates were unable to:

  • determine percentage drop in egg production;
  • state the principles of crop rotation;
  • name the parts of a rubber tapping process illustrated;
  • state the functions of the parts of a rubber tapping process illustrated;
  • state an industry that uses latex;
  • prepare a Profit and loss account from the information given;
  • suggest ways of improving the performance of a farm.

Based on the observed weaknesses, the Chief Examiners recommended as follow:

  • Aspects of the syllabus such as crop production and farm accounts amongst others should be emphasized;

 

  • Only competent graduates of Agricultural Science/Agriculture should be saddled with the responsibility of teaching the subject in Senior Secondary Schools.
