(b) State three functions of each of the two main nutrients obtainable from specimen S mentioned in 4(a). (6 marks)
(c) Name three farm animals from which specimen Q could be obtained. (3 marks)
(d) Give three disadvantages of using the ingredients prepared from specimen P in compounding livestock feed. (3 marks)

Observation

 

(a) This question was quite popular among candidates. Most candidates could name the food nutrients obtained from the specimens.

(b) Some candidates could state the functions of protein but were unable to state the functions of fats and oil while few candidates mixed up the functions of the two nutrients.

(c) Majority of the candidates were unable to give the disadvantages of using blood meal in compounding livestock feed. Some candidates listed the characteristics of blood meal.
