Observation

 Majority of the candidates were able to:
- state the role of each of the following members involved in construction works: land surveyor and clerk of works
- explain the reason for providing an emergency exit to an upper floor of a building.
However, few of them were not able to

• state three safety precautionary measures to be observed when offloading bagged cement for storage;
• state the role of trades foreman in constructions works.

The expected response to question 1(a) (ii) and 1(c) is as given below:

      • he controls the operatives/artisans under him;
      • he explains the daily work It is easy to clean.

   2. storing them in cool dry place;
   3. stacking them on a raised wooden platform;
   4. storing them in a well ventilated shed;
   5. stacking them not more than ten bags in height.
