Candidates
-           could not calculate number of moles;
      -           could not give the colour change that  would be observed when ZnCO3 is heated strongly and left to stand  for a few minutes;
      -           could not suggest the name of a  compound based on the quantitative analysis of the compound;
      -           inability  to round off their answers to 3 significant figures.
The following remedies were suggested:
candidates should
- be familiar with the examination syllabus;
 - improve on their study habit;
 - learn how to write the correct charges on ions;
 - learn how to deduce correct inferences from observation.
